What is the Rush?
The Rush period is when the fraternity holds events for interested men to meet the brotherhood. Events range from dinner, pool, movies, or just meeting for coffee. The focus of the rush is to fimiliarzie oneself with the brotherhood and enable the rushees to make a decision as to whether they want to join the fraternity.
Pledging the Fraternity
Through the pledge program, the pledges are provided opportunities to learn more about the fraternity, the brothers, and about the bond of brotherhood. During the pledge period, each pledge is assigned a 'big brother' who assists them through the pledge process. The pledge education program is accomplished through a variety of activities and projects which the fraternity expects all pledges to participate in.
Hazing
Delta Lambda Phi National Social Fraternity observes a no-hazing policy. There shall be no hazing or informal initiation in connection with the functions of any chapter. The mistreatment of pledges, members, or other persons at any time shall be considered a violation of the purposes of the National Fraternity. Furthermore, there is a strict hands-off policy, in which pledges and brothers are not allowed to have romantic and/or sexual relationships. All rules and regulations are part of the pledge education program. While details vary from pledge class to pledge class, all brothers have gone through the same education program and activities.
