Delta Lambda Phi was founded on October 15, 1986 by Vernon L. Strickland III. We are an international fraternity for gay, bisexual, and progressive men. Here at Florida International University, Beta Delta was founded on the Mosdesto Modique Campus in 2003 by Br. Jorge Casas. Our chapter is a campus-based, so we welcome the interest of enrolled FIU students.

Our Purposes:

  1. To develop dignified and purposeful, social, service and recreational actives for all men, irrespective of sexual orientation.
  2. To lead in determine the rights and privileges of individuals in society.
  3. To present a strong and positive images, which respects the diversity of all individuals, irrespective of sexual orientation.

WHAT WE DO: Since we are primarily a social group, we have parties, hold events (like DLP Divas and Wyte Family Reunion) and correspond with other chapters around the country. We also have regional (twice a year) and national (once a year) conventions. More generally, we hang/go out and strengthen the bond of brotherhood.

Is socializing all you do? No. We are proud of our service work. We volunteer for our philanthropy, Care Resource – South Florida’s leading Non-Profit center for the treatment, care and prevention of HIV/AIDS. We also often volunteer at other organizations around the Miami area. All money raised through our events are donated to AIDS Walk Miami — which benefits CareResource.
