Upon arriving to McGill, Michael D’Alimonte never thought he would join a fraternity. In fact, Michael thought fraternities were stupid and openly criticized previous peers with desires to join a Greek organization. Needless to say, things turned out very differently.
By the will of fate (or other forces) Michael had the (perhaps not quite so) coincidental pleasure of having frosh leaders who were current members of the McGill DLP Interest Group. A fraternity for gay, bisexual, and progressive men was an interesting concept, and a little strange, but many frosh-misadventures later, Michael’s perceptions of DLP, and fraternities in general, changed drastically. Michael joined McGill’s DLP Interest Group that semester of Fall 2009 and began his journey into brotherhood.
From there Michael became an Alpha class member of the McGill Colony. Throughout his McGill career Michael has held the executive positions of Pledge Master, Parliamentarian, VP Operations for McGill’s Inter-Greek Letter Council, Vice President of the McGill Colony, and founding chapter president of Beta Omega. Maybe you saw him on TV. Or the newspaper. Seriously, for a second their it was a media storm. Needless to say it went straight to Michael’s (already large) ego.
Michael has since graduated McGill with a BA in English Literature and world religions, but has never forgot his experiences with DLP. Sometimes he looks back and wonders what might have happened if he was in a different frosh group, and never met his fellow Alpha class members. Needless to say, for Michael it is a scary thought, as all of the bonds of brotherhood he has made, the struggles and experiences he’s shared, and all of the lessons he’s learned through DLP are a strong part of him, and he would never want to live without them.
Nowadays look out for Michael jumping across rooftops in spandex, slaying vampires, and baking pies.
Jesse graduated from McGill University with a double major in Political Science and Economics. He was one of the founding members of the McGill Colony, where he served as secretary for two years. Originally from Malaysia, Jesse loves Asian food and sunshine, which are both rare sights in Montréal. During his studies, he was usually either in the library, finding solutions to the world’s toughest problems, at home, sleeping, or at Second Cup espousing his ideas to ever-willing fellow Lambda men, but was also occasionally found wandering aimlessly around McGill campus. On demand, Jesse is capable of producing highly delicious food or cakes. One day, Jesse hopes to work as an economist for one of the many great capitalist establishments on Wall St. as he believes that capitalism needs some diversity and fabulous-ness.

Originally from Bethesda, MD, Nate moved to Canada for his undergraduate degree. Joining and helping lay the groundwork for DLP at McGill was one of the best decisions he ever made. After graduating from McGill in June 2011, Nate is currently pursuing a master’s degree at the University of Toronto and plans on staying in Canada for a long time. Nate loves the outdoors and activities like hiking, swimming, and cycling. However, he also enjoys activities such as baking, cooking, and picnicking. Reading and listening to music are two things that Nate often does to relax. He thinks there’s nothing like curling up under a blanket with a good book and some warm pie during a cold Canadian winter day.
