U Miami Colony Becomes Gamma Alpha Chapter!
April 28, 2012
Delta Lambda Phi as a whole and the new Lambda Men of University of Miami are proud to reveal the new Gamma Alpha Chapter.
On Saturday, April 28, 2012, the eighteen members of the University of Miami Colony were initiated into full Brotherhood at the chartering event.
Gamma Alpha Chapter is Delta Lambda Phi’s third chapter in Florida, and the fraternity has now reached 29 chapters world-wide.
A few words from Jordan Decker, DLP’s Director of Expansion:
I would also like to take the time to personally thank Brothers David Dial and John Alvarez for their tireless work as Colony Mentors for this group of Lambda Men. The dedication, time and energy that they put into this endeavor do not go unrecognized and we thank them for their work to help extend our Brotherhood.
A special thanks goes to our Trustee Jeffrey Thompson, Board members Rob Grau, Chris Christanto and Lou Camera, our Executive Director Christopher Newman and our Chief Information Officer Josh Powell for being present for the event. And of course, the visiting Brothers of Xi, Beta Delta, Beta Psi and Beta Omega for being a part of this important moment in our history. This weekend could not have happened without the help of all 70 Brothers in attendance.
And of course, I would like to take a moment to thank our founder, Vernon L. Strickland III for being present to share his experience and his words of wisdom with this new Chapter. For not only did we usher these gentlemen in as Brothers, we also took a historic first step into the Gamma era of our Brotherhood.
