October 9, 2012

Delta Lambda Phi’s Acting Vice President of Legal Affairs, Doug Case, has received the highest award from the Association of Fraternity | Sorority Advisors for his many years of service in promoting positive and successful fraternal organizations.

The Robert H. Shaffer Award is the international organization’s most significant award given to a person working in higher education, for demonstrating a long-term commitment to fraternities and sororities.

Doug Case is a pioneer in the field of fraternity and sorority advising, and has made fraternity and fraternalism his life’s work for over 33 years. Doug served as a campus based fraternity and sorority professional at San Diego State University from 1979 to 2011 and currently works in the Office of Student Testing, Assessment and Research. Doug served as President of AFA in 1991 and has volunteered in a wide variety of capacities within the Association almost every year since that time. Doug was central in leading the Association through conversations and learning about providing support to the LGBTQ community and advocating for the “Invisible Members” in the fraternity and sorority community.
