Alpha Chi Chapter Re-Chartered!
October 17, 2012
Please join us in welcoming and congratulating the newly re-chartered Alpha Chi Chapter and its 16 Brothers as the Boston University Colony has now been advanced to full Chapter status.
The re-chartering event was held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 with many brothers from outside chapters, alumni, and board members in attendance. Delta Lambda Phi’s Director of Expansion shared:
A special thanks goes to our Trustee Jeffrey Thompson and Board members Rob Grau, Lou Camera and Sam Brinton for being present for the event, as well as the visiting Brothers of the Alpha, Gamma, Delta, Iota, Xi, Psi, Omega, Alpha Rho, Alpha Psi, Beta Alpha, Beta Epsilon, Beta Iota, Beta Kappa, Beta Mu, Beta Phi, and Beta Psi Chapters for being a part of this important moment in our history. And of course, the presence and support of the Alumni of the original Alpha Chi Chapter was essential to the success of this event. This weekend could not have happened without the help of all the Brothers in attendance.
The Daily Free Press also covered the Colony’s journey to Chapter status and the re-chartering event.
“We’ve proven that we can conduct ourselves in an appropriate fashion,” said DLP president Marcos Villarreal, a senior in the College of Arts and Sciences. “We’ve already proved that by submitting a charter petition that outlines our one, three- and five-year goals.”
Members from the DLP national organization, the executive board, the students’ mentors and about 40 DLP alumni will come to Boston beginning Thursday for ceremonies to update the group to a full chapter, Villarreal said. The colony will be tested to find out if they know the values of the fraternity and go through ceremonies and rituals.
