February 2014 Centaur All-Star: Brother Arcangelo Cella!

March 5, 2014

Please join us in congratulating Brother Arcangelo Cella of the Alpha Chi Chapter for receiving the Centaur All-Star Award for February 2014! Arcangelo currently serves as the President of LAAMB (Local Alumni Association of the Massachusetts Bay).

Br. Cella was nominated by LAAMB Vice President Grant Oberg, who had the following words to share:

LAAMB would not exist today without Angelo. As soon as an idea was hatched, Angelo took a leadership role. He helped write the organization’s bylaws and volunteered for the difficult task of being the organization’s first president. He came into the role with a vision, but still took feedback and let his e-board experiment with new, creative ideas.

It was important to Angelo that LAAMB be a visible presence. We try to support gay-owned facilities in our city. We work hard to be visible and be a resource to the chapter that we care so deeply about. Angelo has worked hard to make sure we walk the fine line between being available to the chapter and not micromanaging or trying to control them.

Angelo is an active student leader at Boston University School of Law. He has worked with the school’s advocacy organizations to hold symposiums on how the law affects queer people. He partnered with brother Sam Brinton to hold a forum on the need for legislation to ban conversion therapy.

Br. Cella and other 2013-2014 Centaur All-Star Award recipients will receive several wonderful benefits for their contribution of leading and promoting positive change in their respective communities. Recipients will have their registration fee waived at Convention 2014 in Tampa. All-Stars will also be specifically recognized amongst their fellow Brothers at the Convention banquet and will qualify for the 2014 Centaur All-Star of the Year Award presented at Convention 2014!
