Date: Friday, January 12 – Monday, January 15, 2018
Location: Camp Ohio (outside of Columbus, OH)
Advanced Leadership Experience Objectives
This experience was created to help Delta Lambda Phi’s newest local Chapter leaders develop their visions and implement them. The curriculum is designed to:
- Practice facilitating and mediating conversations with civility
- Develop familiarity with how to execute chapter activities through collaboration
- Explain how to build consensus around a common purpose
- Create a plan to apply the social change model to their chapter activities
Advanced Leadership Experience Target Audience
The Advanced Leadership experience is geared towards new and perspective officers in our Chapters of Delta Lambda Phi. Preference is given to individuals who are likely have 2-3 years remaining in their Chapter. In other words, a Chapter should not select an outgoing leader to attend this program.
The application process for The Advanced Leadership experience is a collaborative process where the Chapter and the Fraternity Office together select a member who best meets the criteria and is likely to be an engaged leader for the next couple years. The purpose is to provide a chapter officers with education and training in leadership concepts, organizational change, and the Social Change values in order to drive impactful and lasting change within the leader’s home Chapter.
Those selected are not required to have completed the Emerging Leadership experience program of the Delta Force Leadership Academy.
Advanced Leadership Experience Funding
Each chapter is expected to send at least one member to the Leadership Academy. Because there are a limited number of undergraduate spots at Leadership Academy, the Fraternity will allow the first registrant from each chapter. Additional registrants will be put on a waiting list. After these dates, if there are more spots to be filled, those on the waiting list will be given a spot.
The Delphi Foundation has committed funding to cover the bulk of the registration cost for each participant. Once registered, each participant will be required to pay only $80 of the $750 registration fee per participant. This portion of the registration costs must be submitted at the time of registration.
The $750 registration fee covers all transportation to/from the Academy site from airport, meals, basic lodging, all Academy events and sessions, and Academy takeaways..
The remaining $670.00 balance for each registration ($750.00 minus the initial $80 payment) will be resolved first by utilizing available funding from their university, second by the Leadership Academy Fund through the Delphi Foundation.
