Welcome to the Omega Chapter of Delta Lambda Phi Social Fraternity at the University of Arizona. Delta Lambda Phi is a traditional Greek social organization founded by and for a decidedly nontraditional group.Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Progressive Men

For over twenty-five years, Delta Lambda Phi has offered these men the opportunity to lead, to grow, and to form lifelong bonds of friendship with other like-minded men. The Omega Chapter of Delta Lambda Phi was founded on September 2, 2006 after having been an interest group on the University of Arizona campus since 2005. We have been affiliated with the University of Arizona campus and with the United Sorority and Fraternity Council since our rechartering in 2006.

Currently, Delta Lambda Phi – Omega is the only social fraternity at the University of Arizona for gay, bisexual, trans, and progressive men. Delta Lambda Phi is a 501(c)7 tax-exempt organization.

Our Brother Ahmed Al-Shamari has made it into the Top Five for Homecoming King 2018. Br. Al-Shamari is a senior pursuing his Physiology, Neuroscience & Cognitive Science, Molecular & Cellular Biology and Arabic degrees here are the University of Arizona. Not only has he been the Treasurer of our chapter for the past two years, he has also been a Resident Assistant for the past three years and was promoted to the title of Lead Resident Assistant this year. Additionally, he is the President of Mex-Zona and an Outreach Scholar in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies. Despite all of these commitments he continues to find time to be a strong fixture in the Tucson Community as a Banner UMC volunteer and intern at the International Rescue Committee.

Ahmed says his favorite thing about U of A would have to be the exposure to the many eclectic groups and cultures on campus. “I love the fact that I can just walk onto campus and learn about so many different types of people and communities that reside right here in our own backyard.”

Ahmed wants to highlight his support and love for Transgender and Gender-nonconforming folx as well. “I know the world isn’t being kind right now but please know that I stand with and support all of you in this fight for equal human rights.”

Please show him some love and Vote for Br. Al-Shamari to be the first Homosexual Homecoming King at the University of Arizona campus.
