Job Summary
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be responsible for the strategy and management of the Fraternity's marketing efforts. This will include direct responsibility for marketing for the national organization as well as support for local chapters, and helping the Alumnx Association on an ad hoc basis. As a key member of the fraternity's Senior Staff, the Chief Marketing Officer will report to the Office of the Executive Director.
Essential Job Functions
Provide strategic vision and goals for the Marketing Division which consists of Social Media, Centaur's Yell, Email Marketing, and Graphic Design teams.
Manage and propose annual budget for the Marketing Division.
Recruit and develop leaders in the Marketing Division.
Develop collaborative strategies and processes to ensure all Fraternity divisions are able to have their marketing needs met in a timely manner.
Meet regularly to provide effective and responsive support and coaching for Directors and Senior Directors of the constituent teams.
Maintain an awareness of ongoing trends in Marketing
Provide oversight and manage projects as needed.
Ensure timely campaigns around important fraternity events and dates
Maintain an event and important date calendar for the fraternity and develop support and social support around it
All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Experience supervising others.
Experience managing a budget.
Experience managing projects.
Ability to work collaboratively or independently.
Ability to work across multiple units, personalities, and identities to develop innovative solutions to operational issues.
Organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Three (3) or more years of experience and/or education in Marketing, Public Relations, or related field
Proficient in MicroSoft Office Suite programs, particularly PowerPoint
Alumnx considered in good standing with the Fraternity
Preferred Qualifications
MBA in Marketing highly preferred
Familiarity with marketing practices across social and e-mail
Experience with strategic planning and tracking
A high degree of comfort working on tight deadlines and with variable resources
Experience using Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
Expected Workload
5-10 hours per week should be expected for the day-to-day maintenance of marketing outlets, such as social media. Weekend travel and time may be required for Fraternity events, such as Conference and Convention.
